All-Star Movies Transportation: Buses & Getting to the Parks
Transportation from All-Star Movies
Updated regularly based on current transportation patterns
All-Star Movies is one of Disney's three All-Star value resorts, and it's bus-only. No Skyliner, no monorail, no boats. Buses are your sole Disney transportation option to every park, every day.
That sounds limiting, but it's simpler than you'd think. There are no decisions to agonize over — you walk to the bus stop, wait for your bus, and ride directly to the park. This guide covers what to expect so you can plan your travel time realistically.
How Bus Service Works at All-Star Movies
All-Star Movies shares bus service with All-Star Music. This is the most important thing to understand about transportation from this resort.
Shared Buses
Your bus will stop at All-Star Music either before or after your stop, depending on the direction. This adds 5-10 minutes to your trip compared to resorts with dedicated buses.
What this means in practice:
- The bus may already have passengers from All-Star Music when it arrives at your stop
- On busy mornings, a bus might be nearly full by the time it reaches your resort
- Return buses from the parks will stop at both resorts before completing the route
The shared bus arrangement is the single biggest factor in travel time from All-Star Movies. Factor it into every trip.
Bus Stop Location
The bus stop at All-Star Movies is near Cinema Hall (the main lobby). Depending on which building you're in, the walk to the bus stop takes 3-8 minutes.
| Section | Walk to Bus Stop |
|---|---|
| Toy Story | 3-4 minutes |
| Fantasia | 4-5 minutes |
| 101 Dalmatians | 5-6 minutes |
| Love Bug | 6-7 minutes |
| Mighty Ducks | 7-8 minutes |
Travel Times to Each Park
All travel times include the stop at All-Star Music. These are realistic ranges, not best-case scenarios.
To Magic Kingdom
Typical time: 25-40 minutes
Buses go directly to the Magic Kingdom bus loop near the park entrance. No TTC transfer needed. See Getting to Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom is the farthest park from the All-Star area and takes the longest to reach. For a deeper look at why, see Why Disney Transportation Takes So Long.
To EPCOT
Typical time: 20-35 minutes
Direct bus to EPCOT's main entrance (Spaceship Earth, Guardians of the Galaxy, Test Track).
To Hollywood Studios
Typical time: 15-25 minutes
The closest park to All-Star Movies. Direct bus service.
To Animal Kingdom
Typical time: 15-25 minutes
Direct bus service. Animal Kingdom is bus-only from every resort.
To Disney Springs
Typical time: 20-30 minutes
Direct bus service.
Morning Strategy
Rope drop is when bus timing matters most. Buses start running 45-60 minutes before the posted park opening, but the shared arrangement with All-Star Music means you need to plan extra buffer.
For rope drop:
- Be at the bus stop 60-75 minutes before park opening
- The first buses are the least crowded and most reliable
- If you're in a far building (Mighty Ducks, Love Bug), add your walk time on top of that
The earlier you arrive at the bus stop, the more likely you'll get on the first bus. Missing the first bus can cost you 20 minutes.
Evening Return
After parks close — especially after fireworks — buses get crowded and waits increase.
Best strategies:
- Leave before the fireworks finale to beat the rush
- Stay 20-30 minutes after to let crowds clear
- Remember your bus serves two resorts, so it may be fuller than single-resort buses

Comparing All-Star Movies to Other Value Resorts
The biggest difference between All-Star Movies and resorts like Pop Century or Art of Animation is the Skyliner. Those resorts have gondola access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, giving them a second transportation option. All-Star Movies has buses only.
| Factor | All-Star Movies | Pop Century / Art of Animation |
|---|---|---|
| Bus service | Shared with All-Star Music | Dedicated buses |
| Skyliner | No | Yes — EPCOT and Hollywood Studios |
| Typical bus wait | Longer (shared route) | Standard |
| Room price | Usually lower | Usually slightly higher |
If transportation speed matters to you, the price difference between All-Star Movies and Pop Century may be worth it for Skyliner access alone.
What All-Star Movies Does Well
Despite being bus-only with shared service, All-Star Movies has advantages:
- Simplicity. No decisions to make — just go to the bus stop. At Skyliner resorts, you're constantly choosing between bus and gondola.
- Price. All-Stars are typically Disney's least expensive resorts.
- Proximity to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. These two parks are the closest, and bus times are competitive with most other resorts.
- Theming. The movie-themed sections are fun, especially for families with kids.
Tips for All-Star Movies Guests
- Budget extra time. Add 10-15 minutes to any travel estimate you see online. Most estimates don't account for the shared bus stop.
- Use the My Disney Experience app. Check estimated bus wait times before heading to the stop.
- Consider rideshare for time-sensitive plans. If you have a hard reservation time, a rideshare eliminates the bus wait variable.
- Don't fight the system. Bus-only is fine for a Disney vacation. You'll spend more time in the parks than in transit.
The Bottom Line
All-Star Movies is a straightforward, bus-only resort. The shared bus service with All-Star Music adds time to every trip, and you won't have the Skyliner or monorail options that some other resorts offer.
But buses go everywhere, they run all day, and they work. If you set realistic time expectations and build in buffer, you'll have no trouble getting to every park and back.
All-Star Movies is bus-only, which makes departure timing the key variable. For help planning when to leave for a specific date, or checking your options right now — see how the app handles bus-only resorts.
