Disney World Resort Transportation Guides: Every Resort, Every Option
Know your options before you book
Your resort choice affects how you get around Disney World. Some resorts have Skyliner stations, others are on the monorail loop, and a few offer walking distance to parks. Our resort guides help you understand exactly what transportation options you'll have.
Skyliner Resorts
The four Skyliner resorts offer gondola access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios — the most common question we hear is "which resort has the best Skyliner access?" These guides answer that with real timing details and honest comparisons.
EPCOT-Area Resorts
Five resorts sit on Crescent Lake within walking distance of both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. No buses, no boats, no waiting — just walk. These guides cover walk times, boat options, and when each makes sense.
Monorail Resorts
The three monorail resorts sit on the Seven Seas Lagoon with direct monorail service to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (via TTC transfer). Contemporary offers the best walking path to any park at Disney World, while Grand Floridian has a covered walkway and Polynesian adds boat launches to the mix.
Value Resorts
The All-Star resorts are Disney's most affordable options and rely entirely on bus transportation. No Skyliner, no monorail, no boats — just buses to every destination. All-Star Movies and Music share bus service (adding time per trip), while All-Star Sports has its own dedicated routes.
Magic Kingdom Area
Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness both have boat service directly to Magic Kingdom — skipping the TTC transfer that makes bus-only resorts slower. Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe resort with a straightforward boat ride, while Fort Wilderness is a unique campground with internal buses and optional golf carts adding complexity. Neither is a monorail resort, but the direct boats put them ahead of most resorts for Magic Kingdom access.
Animal Kingdom Area
Animal Kingdom Lodge is the closest resort to Animal Kingdom — a 5-10 minute bus ride to the park. It's bus-only for everything else, but if Animal Kingdom is your priority park, no other resort competes on proximity.
Disney Springs Area
Four resorts offer special access to Disney Springs. Saratoga Springs is the only Disney resort within walking distance — cross the pedestrian bridge and you're at the Marketplace in minutes. Port Orleans Riverside, French Quarter, and Old Key West all have Sassagoula River boat service to Disney Springs. French Quarter is the most compact, Riverside offers more amenities, and Old Key West is the original DVC resort with a sprawling layout. All four are bus-only for theme parks.
Other Moderate Resorts
Coronado Springs is a large convention resort where your building location can add 10+ minutes to every trip. Gran Destino Tower offers the best transportation access, while distant buildings like Cabanas require the most walking. All parks are served by bus.
