All-Star Music Transportation: Buses & Getting to the Parks
Transportation from All-Star Music
Updated regularly based on current transportation patterns
All-Star Music is one of Disney's three All-Star value resorts, sitting between All-Star Movies and All-Star Sports on the same stretch of Buena Vista Drive. Like its siblings, it's entirely bus-dependent — no Skyliner, no monorail, no boats.
The twist: All-Star Music shares bus service with All-Star Movies. This affects your travel time on every trip and is the most important thing to know about getting around from this resort.
How Bus Service Works at All-Star Music
Shared Buses with All-Star Movies
All-Star Music and All-Star Movies share the same bus routes. Every bus that stops at your resort also stops at All-Star Movies, either before or after.
What this means:
- Buses may arrive partially full from the other resort
- Your total trip time includes a stop at All-Star Movies (adds 5-10 minutes)
- At park close, the bus serves both resorts before completing its route
All-Star Music is typically the first stop when buses leave the parks, which means you'll usually get on before All-Star Movies guests. On the way to the parks, pick-up order varies.
The shared arrangement adds time but isn't a dealbreaker. Just factor it into your planning.
Bus Stop Location
The bus stop is near Melody Hall (the main lobby), centrally located for most buildings.
| Section | Walk to Bus Stop |
|---|---|
| Calypso | 3-4 minutes |
| Jazz Inn | 4-5 minutes |
| Rock Inn | 5-6 minutes |
| Country Fair | 5-6 minutes |
| Broadway | 6-7 minutes |
Travel Times to Each Park
All times include the shared stop at All-Star Movies.
To Magic Kingdom
Typical time: 25-40 minutes
Buses go directly to the Magic Kingdom bus loop near the park entrance. See Getting to Magic Kingdom.
To EPCOT
Typical time: 20-35 minutes
Direct bus to EPCOT's main entrance.
To Hollywood Studios
Typical time: 15-25 minutes
The closest park to the All-Star area. Direct bus service.
To Animal Kingdom
Typical time: 15-25 minutes
Direct bus service. Animal Kingdom is bus-only from every resort.
To Disney Springs
Typical time: 20-30 minutes
Direct bus service.
All-Star Music vs. All-Star Movies
Since they share buses, the transportation experience is nearly identical. The practical differences:
- Pick-up order varies by route direction. Sometimes Music is first, sometimes Movies.
- Walk to bus stop depends on your building in each resort.
- Family suites are available at All-Star Music (Jazz Inn and Calypso sections), making it one of only two All-Star resorts with suites (along with the recently renovated options).
From a pure transportation standpoint, choosing between Music and Movies comes down to room preference, not getting-around logistics.
Morning Strategy
For rope drop at any park:
- Be at the bus stop 60-75 minutes before park opening
- First buses are least crowded
- The shared route means your first bus might already have passengers
If you see a full bus pull up, the next one is usually 15-20 minutes behind. Getting to the stop early matters more at shared-bus resorts.
Evening Return
After fireworks, bus waits increase and buses serve both resorts.
Best strategies:
- Leave before the show finale
- Or wait 20-30 minutes for crowds to thin
- All-Star Music is often the first stop on the return route — a small advantage
For detailed strategies, see Transportation at Park Close.
Comparing to Skyliner Value Resorts
The biggest transportation gap among value resorts is between the All-Stars and the Skyliner resorts (Pop Century, Art of Animation).
| Factor | All-Star Music | Pop Century / Art of Animation |
|---|---|---|
| Bus service | Shared with All-Star Movies | Dedicated buses |
| Skyliner | No | Yes — EPCOT and Hollywood Studios |
| Typical bus wait | Longer (shared route) | Standard |
| Room price | Usually lower | Usually slightly higher |
The Skyliner access at Pop Century and Art of Animation is a meaningful upgrade for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios trips. If those parks are your focus, the price difference may be worth it.
The Bottom Line
All-Star Music is a solid, affordable resort where buses are your only Disney transportation option. The shared service with All-Star Movies adds some time to every trip, but buses cover every destination and run all day.
Set realistic time expectations — budget 30-45 minutes for most park trips — and you won't be caught off guard. The All-Star resorts have been getting guests to the parks reliably for decades.
All-Star Music's shared bus service adds unpredictability, which makes planning ahead even more valuable. For help timing your trips on a specific travel date, or getting a recommendation in the moment — see how the app handles bus-only resorts.
