All-Star Sports is the original All-Star resort and the most straightforward transportation situation at Disney World. It's bus-only — no Skyliner, no monorail, no boats — but unlike its neighbors All-Star Movies and All-Star Music, All-Star Sports has its own dedicated bus service.

That's a meaningful difference. No shared stops, no extra pickups. Your bus serves only All-Star Sports guests.

How Bus Service Works at All-Star Sports

Dedicated Buses

All-Star Sports has its own dedicated bus routes to every destination. This is a notable advantage over All-Star Movies and All-Star Music, which share buses with each other.

What dedicated service means:

  • Buses arrive empty (not already carrying guests from another resort)
  • No additional stops before reaching your destination
  • Shorter total trip times compared to the shared Movies/Music routes
  • Return buses from the parks come directly to your resort

Dedicated buses shave 5-10 minutes off each trip compared to the shared All-Star Movies/Music route. Over a week-long vacation, that adds up.

Bus Stop Location

The bus stop is near Stadium Hall (the main lobby). Walk times from each section:

Section Walk to Bus Stop
Surf's Up 3-4 minutes
Home Run Hotel 4-5 minutes
Center Court 5-6 minutes
Touchdown! 6-7 minutes
Hoops Hotel 6-7 minutes

Travel Times to Each Park

These times reflect dedicated bus service — no additional resort stops.

To Magic Kingdom

Typical time: 20-35 minutes

Buses go directly to the Magic Kingdom bus loop near the park entrance. See Getting to Magic Kingdom.

To EPCOT

Typical time: 15-30 minutes

Direct bus to EPCOT's main entrance (Spaceship Earth, Guardians of the Galaxy, Test Track).

To Hollywood Studios

Typical time: 10-20 minutes

The closest park to the All-Star area. Direct service.

To Animal Kingdom

Typical time: 10-20 minutes

Direct bus service. Animal Kingdom is bus-only from every resort.

To Disney Springs

Typical time: 15-25 minutes

Direct bus service.

The Dedicated Bus Advantage

All-Star Sports' dedicated bus service is its biggest transportation differentiator among the All-Star resorts.

Factor All-Star Sports All-Star Movies / Music
Bus service Dedicated Shared between two resorts
Extra stops None 1 additional resort stop
Time added per trip 5-10 minutes
Bus arrives empty Yes Sometimes partially full

If transportation efficiency is a priority within the All-Star category, Sports has the edge.

Morning Strategy

For rope drop:

  • Be at the bus stop 60-75 minutes before park opening
  • Dedicated buses mean you're more likely to get a seat on the first bus
  • First buses of the day are the least crowded and most predictable

For a deeper look at why early morning timing matters, see Why Disney Transportation Takes So Long.

Evening Return

After parks close, bus waits increase everywhere. All-Star Sports' dedicated service helps — your bus comes straight back without stopping at another resort.

Best strategies:

  • Leave before the fireworks finale to beat the rush
  • Or stay 20-30 minutes after to let crowds clear
  • Dedicated buses mean slightly shorter waits on the return compared to shared-service resorts

For more strategies, see Transportation at Park Close.

Comparing to Other Value Resorts

vs. All-Star Movies and All-Star Music

All-Star Sports' dedicated buses give it faster, more predictable service. The trade-off is theming preference — Movies and Music may appeal more to families with young children.

vs. Pop Century and Art of Animation

Pop Century and Art of Animation have Skyliner access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, which is a significant transportation upgrade. They also have dedicated bus service. The price difference is usually $20-40/night more.

Factor All-Star Sports Pop Century / Art of Animation
Bus service Dedicated Dedicated
Skyliner No Yes — EPCOT and Hollywood Studios
Bus wait times Standard Standard
Room price Usually lowest Slightly higher

For EPCOT and Hollywood Studios heavy trips, the Skyliner resorts are worth the price bump. For Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom focused trips, the difference matters less — everyone's on a bus.

The Bottom Line

All-Star Sports is the most transportation-efficient of the three All-Star resorts, thanks to its dedicated bus service. You won't have Skyliner or monorail access, but your buses are faster and more predictable than the shared routes at All-Star Movies and Music.

It's a simple, affordable, no-frills transportation experience. Buses go everywhere, they run all day, and you don't have to think about which transportation mode to choose.

All-Star Sports' dedicated buses are more predictable than the shared routes, but timing still matters. For help planning departures for a future date, or checking your best option right now — see how the app handles bus-only resorts.
